Hello there! I’m Taryn, and I’m a natural light photographer serving the Greater DC, MD & VA area in maternity, newborn and family photography. These are the specialties that make my heart swell from the moment the shutter clicks straight through to the final edit and delivery. This is the field where my passion lies, and I would love to capture these moments in time with you and your family to cherish for years to come.
25 Random Facts About Me (And the fact that there are 25 is reference to another rather obvious random fact.):
- I’m almost always found wearing a bow and I’ll put them on little girls as often as I can.
- My love of photography and babies both are a result of fourth child syndrome.
- I’m six feet tall and have been since 8th grade, though it took till freshman year of college for me to willingly admit it. Outgrew Mom in elementary school and Dad in middle school. Second tallest in my family behind my oldest brother.
- I have Hair ADD–I change colors, lengths, styles multiple times in a year.
- My husband and I are high school sweethearts…who didn’t get serious until a year into college.
- Every day I live up north, I miss Publix a little bit more.
- I love the smell of coffee but absolutely hate the taste. Which stinks because I crave the caffeine, so it’s froo-froo espresso drinks all the way.
- I love animals. I have always dreamed of owning a horse. We already have two dogs and as soon as we get a house I want to foster rescue pups. And I’ve been working on the hubs for over a year about getting a cat. I think he’s beginning to crack.
- Favorite thing about summer: watching thunderstorms in FL.
- I find it ironic that heel size increases with shoe size. Even so, I’m an admitted shoe-aholic and I’m often found happily rocking size 11 6-inch stilettos.
- Two biggest fears: bugs of any kind, and mayonnaise. Yes I said mayonnaise.
- I grew up in big-city South Florida, spending summers in small-town Ohio. I always wished we would move up there so I could experience a true change of seasons. Having spent almost the past two years in MD, I’ll admit that while I love the colors of fall and the first snow in the winter, I think I’ll always be a FL girl at heart. I need to live near a beach!
- If you ask my husband what my favorite food is, he’s going to say bread, and he would be right.
- I’m a roller coaster junkie. I never even went to Disney for the first time till I was 11 because I was too busy plummeting down the real coasters at Cedar Point every summer.
- I’ve had baby fever since I was six.
- I’m a total bookworm, and I can reread a good book countless times without getting bored or sick of it.
- I can’t not eat the whole box of mac-n-cheese, especially since my dear husband doesn’t like it. Maybe when we have kids I’ll share…or just make two boxes.
- Bold lipstick is my best friend.
- My eyes changed from bright blue to gleaming green pretty much overnight when I was six.
- I love to bake. My first job was decorating cakes.
- My TiVo is always on the verge of full.
- I grew up in the pool with a swim-instructor mom, and yet I don’t know how to dive. It ends in a belly flop. Every. Time.
- God’s greatest gift to me: my husband.
- God’s greatest blessing to the both of us: becoming foster parents.
- And now we’re expecting as well!
